The Challenge

A volunteer-led rescue squad running on donations since 1983 had no real web presence. They needed two things a Facebook page cannot do well: recruit new members and take donations. On a site people may land on mid-emergency, it also had to be immediately obvious that this is not the number you call when something is wrong — you call 911.

Our Solution

A fast static Astro site that leads with a persistent call-911 banner, then makes the two jobs that matter easy to find: a volunteer application and a donation path. The service area, the roster, and the squad's news are laid out plainly. No tracking-heavy page builder, nothing that slows a phone down on rural mobile data.

The Results

The squad has a credible home for recruiting and fundraising that reflects four decades of community service, and an emergency visitor is pointed at 911 within the first screen.
