An HVAC unit effectively disappears the moment it leaves the loading dock. Manufacturers lose serial-level visibility, distributors take parts orders by phone and fax, contractors have no proof to lean on in a warranty dispute, and homeowners have no idea what is installed or what is still covered. The record lives in spreadsheets and phone calls, which is exactly where disputes and warranty fraud come from.

A platform that gives every unit one record, created at the factory and carried through to the homeowner. Units move through an enforced seven-step lifecycle — nothing ships without passing QC and nothing is installed without the details that make a warranty real — with each transition audit-logged. A single unit URL lives in both a QR code and an NFC chip.

On top of one source of truth sit five purpose-built surfaces: web portals for manufacturers and dealers, a browser app for homeowners and inspectors, and two native mobile apps we built in React Native for iOS and Android. The homeowner app handles service requests, maintenance reminders, and tap-to-open unit access. The contractor app is the one that has to work in a crawlspace — it reads the NFC tag off the unit itself, records installs and startup surveys, and messages the homeowner from the field.

Manufacturers are isolated tenants, so a distributor can carry ten brands without any of them seeing each other.

The most technically ambitious system we have built: a multi-tenant platform spanning four stakeholder groups and ten-plus roles, two cross-platform mobile apps, and physical NFC hardware bound to digital records. Web, mobile, and hardware in one product is the clearest demonstration of what separates us from agencies who only assemble page templates.
